ARIEL QADIR MAJJHOO, M.D.

Dr. Ariel Qadir Majjhoo has been affiliated with Spine Sports & Occupational Medicine since 2016. Dually Board-certified in both Neurology and Pain Intervention with the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology. Dr. Majjhoo is a Neurologist at Beaumont/Oakwood Hospital Health System and is affiliated with Beaumont Hospitals in Wayne, Dearborn and Trenton, Michigan. Prior to his hospital affiliation, he was an attending physician at the Michigan Institute of Pain Management in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.

Dr. Majjhoo is also the owner and chief physician at Neurointerventional Pain Management (NIPM), a medical practice that specializes in finding relief for patients struggling with chronic pain by using the latest medical technologies and a broad spectrum of pain management strategies to bring multiple levels of diagnoses and treatments to patients, mixing both traditional and non-traditional styles.

Dr. Majjhoo received his M.D. from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2007, completing his residencies in Internal Medicine (2009) and Neurology (2012) at Wayne State University–Detroit Medical Center in Detroit. In 2012, Dr. Majjhoo was the recipient of the Anesthesia Pain Medicine Fellowship from Wayne State University–Detroit Medical Center. His undergraduate degree was also completed at Wayne State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences in 2002 and minored in Business Administration. Dr. Majjhoo was the first Neurologist to enter and complete the Anesthesia Department Program and one of the few Neurologists in Michigan board certified in the field of Pain Management.

Dr. Majjhoo is a member of the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS), International Spine Intervention Society (ISIS), American Society of Intervention, American Pain Society (APS), American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS). Dr. Majjhoo currently serves as the Pain Management Site Director for ProMedica Hospital and is on the Medtronic Medical Advisory Board–Emerging Leader Committee.

Dr. Majjhoo has done clinical research in a variety of areas including NSAID use in elderly patients, searching for novel autoantigens in rheumatoid arthritis, and vaccination and counseling in chronic Hepatitis C patients, and has co-authored a number of abstracts including case studies on “Advanced Techniques for Acute and Chronic Pain Management” and “Retained Sheared Catheter Fragment During Epidurolysis: A Case Study. Advanced Techniques for Acute and Chronic Pain Management.” Dr. Majjhoo has presented on the differentials and treatment options of neuropathic painful conditions and opioid management.
